  1. BELIEVE. Seriously.

  2. WRITE. EVERY DAY. Before doing anything. Force yourself if you have to.

  3. JUST WRITE. No matter what. About anything.

  4. DON'T THINK ABOUT ANYONE ELSE BUT YOU WRITING. Block out naysayers, haters, those who envy. Even agents and publishers. Imagine you have this door in your mind. You determine who, when and where gets in that door.

  5. MEDITATE. It does not have to be formal meditation. It can be sitting where you're in front of the Mac, cell, Fire, Desktop, whatever. Just look away from the device for a minute and breathe.

  6. BE MINDFUL OF YOUR SCHEDULE. If you're overwhelmed, over scheduled, there may be little room for the thoughts to flow.

  7. MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. To write. Just like you would to meeting your favorite person. Keep it. Again, write whatever comes to mind. If the mind is totally blank, pray.

  8. MAKE A FRIEND. Make writing your best friend, whom you love and can't disappoint.

  9. PATIENCE is more than a virtue, it can be the difference between sane and crazy. It's not the end of the world. Ok, maybe it is in which case, your won't have to worry about "writer's block."

  10. IT'S WHO YOU ARE. Write because you must. It's not what you do, but who you are. You're breathing aren't you? Good. Take those deep breaths and feeling good, bad or ugly, GET BACK TO WORK and write.

  11. EXCUSES DON'T AFFORD. You may have lost that loved one, but you're still here. Even if you're sick or in pain, you can still think. Write about the sickness, the pain. EXCUSES are extremely expensive. Don't go in debt paying the cost.

  12. GRATITUDE & FUNITUDE. Being grateful that you have the desire and ability to write cannot be under or overestimated. Gratitude, respect and appreciation for yourself and your endeavors stretch beyond the limitation of distances. Yeah, we know funitude is not in the Thesaurus but you get the idea. Treat yourself, then come back to that page you left. I know you'll find what I have--it can do wonders.
